Fili Fepulea'i-Tapua'i
Aigalefili, better known as Fili, has a way with words and the heart to use them. A powerhouse in social impact, indigenous climate advocacy, and community empowerment, she’s spent the last five years knee-deep in grassroots activism, repping and protecting her beloved South Auckland. But Fili’s passion doesn’t stop at her area code.
In 2020, she took her voice to the world stage as a guest speaker at the United Nations General Assembly and was selected to represent New Zealand at the Global Young Leaders Conference in New York City. Her mahi speaks for itself, and so do the accolades. That same year, Fili swept up the NZ Women of Influence Young Leader Award, SUNPIX Pacific People Emerging Leadership Award, GirlBoss Leadership Award, and the Pacific Cooperation Forum Supreme Award for Youth Advocacy. In 2021, she was also a finalist for the New Zealander of the Year Local Hero Award.
Beyond being a force in the activist world, Fili is an accomplished spoken word poet, using her gift to move hearts and minds. Creativity, passion, and purpose - she’s got it all. If Fili’s the way of the future, we might just be in safe hands.
